A warm welcome and a fun game
On December 14, 2023 at the company’s headquarters in Arkady Wrocławskie the Nice Project Team held the annual Christmas meeting. It was a great opportunity to share our achievements and challenges of the past year, present our plans and expectations for the coming year, and also to strengthen our bonds and cooperation in our awesome team.
After an initial informal coffee Mariusz Lewandowski and Justyna Lewandowska welcomed us, and they thanked all the team members for their commitment and professionalism. Kornelia Podsiadło (our HR Lead) invited us to join a networking game - it was simple but very entertaining. We drew mind maps of ourselves and things near and dear to our hearts. This way we could get to know each other better and learn more about each other. The game was very interesting and fun, and also helped us break the ice and discover even more things that we have in common.
A year in review
After the networking game, we moved on to the part summarizing the year 2023. Each team had a chance to showcase their amazing projects, achievements and challenges, and to share their insights and lessons learned. We were impressed by the variety and quality of the work that our teams did, and by the passion and creativity that they showed.
We learned more about frontend’s team participation in the NG Poland conference, where they got acquainted with the latest trends and technologies in the field of Angular. The testers shared their plans to participate in the upcoming Robocon conference, where they will give talks, tutorials and workshops around Robot Framework. The QA Lead Adam Hepner summarized our own conference Wrobocon 2023, which was a success and gathered around 250 participants from the IT industry. The cherry on top was the presentation of our new website to the whole team.
A look ahead
After the presentations of the teams, the CEO presented the plans and expectations for the year 2024. He detailed the company plans to move to a new office on Wybrzeże Wyspiańskiego 36, which will be better adapted to changing job market, as it will act more as a meeting place and creative space for our new initiatives, while our daily work will continue to be done remotely.
A Santa's visit
At the end, Mariusz and Justyna thanked us again for our contribution and wished us all the best in the coming year. A Christmas Party would not be complete without gifts and Santa did not forget anyone in our team as well.
A festive dinner and a merry conclusion
After the official part, we went to a Christmas dinner at the ENIGMA restaurant on the Market Square. There was a delicious meal waiting for us, which consisted of traditional Polish dishes. During the dinner we could relax and enjoy our conversations. The atmosphere was nice, cheerful, and full of the Christmas spirit. The dinner was a perfect ending to our meeting and made us feel like family. Thank you all for participating and we wish you a Nice Christmas and a Happy New Year!
